Some thing. That I have.
Testimony...which one is this?

Today there was a "Meet your religious leaders" barbeque on campus.  There was free food, so of course I'm there.

I mean, I already know my bishop, but hey, free dinner.  Anyway, so all of the wards here had their own tables set up, which of course took up more that half of the space because hello!  Utah.  Then there were the other religions.

The episcopalians (sp) were giving out fruit and veggies.  I should have taken some, but I didn't.  Now I'm regretting that.  Could use some spare oranges, can't have scurvy.

Then, I went to the Trinity Lutheren Church's table and got a free cd case that told me that God 'hearts' (loves) me!  Yeah, babeh, good to hear!

Then we kept walking and I said hi to some grumpy Catholics.  They were civil enough, but I got the vibe that they almost didn't want to talk to me.  I didn't feel very welcome, and I was even nice!  I asked them where they met and that I'd gone to mass before and they didn't care.    It was very upsetting.

Then, my friend and I walked past the Calvary Chapel people and they practically THREW these cool water bottles at us.

I got that.

And some dinner.

And ice cream.

My friend that was with me made and interesting comment, though.  She told me that all of the Mormons were very happy and welcoming.  She said, "I know everyone has their bad days, but all the LDS people seemed just more firendly than everyone else.  And they don't force it on you like some people do."  I don't really know what that last comment meant, because no one was out there throwing Bibles in our faces, just water bottles.

It was fun.

I like organized religion.

It makes me happy, and that's what's important, right?

I mean, as much faith as I have in my religion, I'm just glad other people can love theirs.  I might even go to some of these other services, just to see.  But I'll still know that I have the true and living Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I hope others are just as strong in what they believe.  That's what makes this world so interesting.

@Marcie: yes, we Mormons. We're pretty cool and apparently we make good BBQ.
