Some thing. That I have.
What kind of Instacare closes at nine?
Published on November 6, 2007 By Cedarbird In Health & Medicine
So, funny story. I was with a large group of friends last night, and we had a person come and teach us self defense, you know, how to get away from someone trying to kidnap or kill us. It was fun and informative, then we started practicing on the guys who were with us. I, having "small dog syndrome," tend to get a little too into these types of things, and I went up against the biggest guy there. Not to hurt him or myself, but just to see if I could get away from someone so big and scary. We fought pretty hard for an hour or more.

I don't really remember how the rest happened, but one minute he had both of my wrists in his hands, and the next I was on the ground. Apparently, I hit my head pretty hard. He was so worried about me that he made me go to the local InstaCare with him. This is the part the gets me. We arrived at nine-thirty pm. It had been closed for a half an hour.
I really didn't want to go to the hospital, so he took me back to my dorm and someone called her mom who's a nurse. Guess what? I have a mild concussion! They wouldn't let me sleep for two hours. Then I had to wake up every two hours to make sure I didn't go into a coma. Nice.

I feel much better today, but my arms are so badly bruised that I am wearing long sleeves so people don't start asking questions. Ow.

My questions is this: Where can I go at night if I don't want to have to go to the hospital? I thought that's what the InstaCare was for. Oh well. Have a great day!

I think another important lesson is to run away from big, scary guys that want to hurt you.  I believe that would be the best advice I could give...being a big, scary guy myself.  Alternatively you could hang out with big, scary guys that are good to fight the big, scary guys that are bad.

Also, that's pretty damned stupid to have a clinic close at 9...people tend to get hurt at all hours of the night, especially when they're in college and drunk off their ass/high off their ass.

"people tend to get hurt at all hours of the night, especially when they're in college and drunk off their ass/high off their ass."

Those people can go to the hospital.

What you should probably do is find out if there's a 24 hour place in your area. Sometimes there are other places you can go to and not the ER. I totally understand why you wouldn't want to go there, unless of course, it's life or death situation!

I'm glad you're OK though...good grief woman, I'm surprised you didn't get bawled out yet by your bros!

And then most likely jail...depending on what they've done.

Zoo-I was not drunk. Or high. Or under the influence of anything chemical at all. And he wasn't scary, just big.

It was merely a...group of members of my church who get together once a week to get to know each other. We had a speaker come and teach us. I planned it. And it got a little out of hand, is all. Thanks for your concern, guys.

There's usually very little of that in my family. Mostly I get a "Served you right, stupid."

Headline: Church-going man gives female parishioner a concussion - story at 11!

I hope you're all right, that you heal up fast, and that you don't get any more concussions.

I know, I know...I merely stated that several college kids often end up that way and a clinic being open a little later would probably be a good thing.

You're a good kid. I know this because you can write coherently.

Served you right, stupid

Basically.

Hope you get feeling better, Nat. Call if you need anything - not that I can do much, but it would make me feel better.

I'll let you know.

It's nice to know that I can at least go here for sympathy.

My head feels much better today, though. Now my arms and legs are just really sore from using muscles that I don't usually use. And I'm still in long sleeved shirts.

We like to hear people bitch about things, and also like to bitch about things. It's a mutual cycle.
