Some thing. That I have.
Cedarbird's Articles In Religion
June 23, 2008 by Cedarbird
At age ninteen, the young men of my religion are asked to go on missions.  They are assigned all over the world and spend two years serving the people they meet and spreading the gospel.  Naturally, some of them go out for the wrong reasons and waste two years of their lives, but for most I know, they say it's the best two years of their lives. That's the background for this article.  Again, please don't fight. As I grow older, more and more of my friends are getting calle...

Recently I learned that I belonged to the Cult of Satan. Right on. Cool, I've never been in a cult before. I feel all special now. I mean, I never thought of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a cult. We don't do 'culty' things, I don't think. Let's Wikipedia it, shall we? My response in bold. The Merriam-Webster online dictionary lists five different definitions of the word "cult." [15] 1. Formal religious veneration- Um, like...a religion?...

All right, so we all know that there is a constant debate over which is correct: Creation or Evolution.   I have this crazy idea that just might work. What if, now get this...BOTH ARE RIGHT!!?? All I know about either subjectis what I learned in AP Biology my junior year of High School, and theBible and Pearl of Great Price. From what I can tell, there is far too much evidence of evolution todismiss it out of hand, including carbon dated fossils and anatomicalsi...

I get back from school, and my dear brother has kidnapped all of Buffy and Gilmore Girls to Spain.  All that is left is Angel.   I'd forgotten how much I like that show, I mean, I love Joss Whedon, but Angel wasn't my favorite of the three: Buffy, Firefly (best show ever), and Angel. But now that all I have to watch from SanCho's stash.  I'm liking it.    __________________________________________________________________________________________________...

There will be no comments.  This is my last one on the subject.   A certain blogger seems to think that everything I say is Mormon Doctrine. This is not so. Some things I do not know about the doctrine of my church. Scratch that, many things. This is because I am nineteen, have a life, and simply don't have an answer for everything.  I know I can never win a Bible-bashing game, as fun as it may be.  You know the Bible better than I do, I'll admit that. I chose ...

In light of the recent religious revival in the forums, I'm asking you to kindly not comment on this, unless it is a compliment.  Why?  Because not only do I like an ego boost, but I'm sick of getting into arguments about it. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________   I went to Institute today, and I love it.  It's like getting a spiritual high whenever I go, I can get out of the world, and go learn a...

Same thing as before...this is for my own edification and not to start a fight. Thanks! _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I had to watch Schindler's List for English on Monday. Hard to watch. Really hard. A little too long in some spots, but I loved the book, and thought the movie did a nice job covering the story. Liam Neeson made a great Schindler. Did he get an Oscar for that? He probably shou...

I'm starting a series of articles for an indefinite period of time here.  Every time I turn around, I'm told to keep a journal.  Since I hate writing, I've been avoiding it like the plague.  This way, I'm not actually writing, and if anything ever happens to my computer, these will be saved in cyberspace forever. Starting today, I will write a regular article about how my testimony of this gospel has been strengthened.  Hopefully making my blessing tangible will help me to...

Yeah, I just needed all ya'lls to read this.  Sorry about the deception.   Okay, I need a little help.  I have a 1995 Chevy Silverado.  It won't start.  Started yesterday, won't today.    When I turn the key, it clicks.  That's all, just a little click.  The engine won't even try to turn over.  I checked the battery, it's fine, so I think it's the starter.    I was told that if you tap the starter with a hammer while s...

Over the years, I have been called a lot of things for being LDS. A cult member, a lunatic, I've been "brainwashed," and more. The one that bothers me is "Non-Christian." Honestly, I can't understand where people get this notion. We believe in Jesus Christ, that he is the Savior of the world, the Son of God etc etc. I'm not going to go into all that because it's been explained time and time again. So let me say this. As far as my meager studies of the Bible go, there is nothing in there...
